I figured I'd start something off by starting a thread about a Reunion Committee. We have quite a few people signing up.

Who is willing to volunteer to assist with a Reunion Commitee. Granted it will be easier for people still living in the area, but the Internet being what it is, coordination from a distance won't be extremely difficult. To further things, being an avid Online gamer and running one of the largest online competition sites on the net, I have access to some tools to make online coordination easier.

I have a ventrilo server, so if you have a headset and mic or just a mic and speakers it is possible to log onto my server and physically talk to people wihtout the need for long distance calls. The real bonus is that a bunch of people can get together at once.

Anyway, long story short, if you are willing to be part of a committee to work on coordinating a the reunion post here and I'll start working something up.

OK, count me in I guess, even though I am not the best planner. LOL. Will try to help as much as possible. Let's try to get something going.

I can do a little bit to help out with the reunion. I'm home with three boys - 7,5 & 3, so they keep me very busy, especially in the summer! But, if there is anything I can do to help, feel free to contact me. With just a couple months to get a reunion together, we could use all the help we can get.

like I posted on the general discussion page, I have received info from Banu Pugh saying she was willing to help out, and also an email from Melissa Bannick saying that she felt the homecoming weekend would be a good time for a reunion. This year homecoming is set for November 2, 2007. It may be possible to talk to Dr. Smith and see if she would be willing to set aside a section of the stands for the class of '87. We could have the meet and greet right there at the game, and over flow to another location afterwards. Then we could either have a family day on saturday with dinner saturday night or have family day sunday like we had on the 10 year reunion. I know it would make for a busy day, but it may be easier to have family day on saturday so those traveling could attend and not miss out on sunday. please don't just drop in and read the posts, log in and post your sugesstions on this site! TC set it up for us FREE OF CHARGE!!! NO SPAM!!! NO HARRASSING EMAILS!!! JUST LOG IN AND CHAT AWAY!!!

I'll be glad to help, too. I've been getting mailers from reunion planners for other high schools...so far, it appears I went to at least 3 other high schools and graduated from them all in '87. We may want to explore what a planner will cost and determine if it will be justified with a higher participation rate. Let me know when you want to do some planning and I'll make myself available.

I had sent Randy some information an did not get a reply, but from what I understand Melissa Murray's parents own a dinner criuse in Destin that may be good for the Saturday night function. I am not sure how many it would hold. Maybe we could rent the whole boat out? Ronald's 20 year reunion they had family time at the Children's park in Niceville and the Saturday Night at Rocky Bayou Country Club with the food catered and a DJ. (Felt like I was back at prom) Friday night's function was at Bluewater at Schooner's I think it was called. Used to be the Four Season's forever ago. They just had a meet and greet at the bar/deck outside. They had a fairly good turnout both nights. In November the weather should be nice to have something outside.

Friday - Meet and Greet at the Homecoming game, with a section reserved for the Class of 1987; with post game festivities continuing at Helen Back on Okaloosa Island (near Cash's on the Island). This will be a pay as you go event, and will not be included in the price of the Reunion for those who may be traveling in that night.

Saturday Morning - GOLF ANYONE? We will be checking on the availability of a local golf course and the possibility of a discount rate for those who may be interested in a round of golf. Golfers, get your clubs ready!

Saturday - Dinner on the beach. (possibly at the Crab Trap in Destin) This is a MAYBE at this point, but we will have a nice dinner SOMEWHERE! If possible, we can look into having a DJ as well since it was mentioned by some. More on that later......

Sunday - Family Picnic at the Niceville Children's Park complete with catered food. This will be scheduled mid morning thru early afternoon for those who have to travel to attend before leaving town. (Say 11am - 2pm?)

All of this was discussed at a committee meeting held tonight. Several committee members will be making phone calls to try to firm up these plans and get pricing information so we can set a price per person/couple. We will be attempting to send out information BY MAIL to get to more missing eagles. please log onto the MISSING EAGLE thread and post names and contact information (addresses (both mailing and emailing) and phone numbers if possible) of any eagles you may be able to contact.

Hey all! I also am living in Niceville now for the past 1 1/2 yrs! We were in Crestview for 5 yrs before that and overseas from 94-2000 in Germany and England. Being a military family is very eventful! I have been married for 13 yrs and have 9 and 4 yr old boys. I am substitute teaching and trying to get involved in tutoring. It works well for my schedule for now and I enjoy it!

I have sent this website out to Kari Rhode and Mindy Mutschler, Mindy is living in Alaska and moving to Germany so she may not make it!

I can also find Jerry Tauscher and possible others.

Take care,

Debbie (Edge) Fossum
