Wow, what can I say. Been a long time since I have had this much fun. First let me start out by saying thanks to those on the Committee who helped to get this thing going. Tamie, Sherry, Kathy and Alaina. Special thanks to Tamie who put a lot of work in getting the Crab Trap for us as well as having that fantastic cake put together, in addition to the other legwork she did in the background. Without her, it wouldn't have happened.
I want to thank everyone who made it in. We had people literally traveling in from all over the country. As a quick recap of the events (as I remember them...I was a bit inebriated at times  ).
Friday night was sort of a first meet night at the Niceville Stadium for the homecoming football game. Special thanks to Coach Hicks for letting me reserve a section on the Home side of the field near the south end. Basically we covered from the 10 to the Goal line. This would later work out to be the best seats in the house since the game went into overtime and the overtime play takes place on that end of the field.
Friday night started out slow but by the end of the first Quarter nearly everyone had made it in. Some of our last arrivals where Randy Nations (rumors of his thinning hair where greatly exaggerated), Bobby Payne (who I think was glad to be someplace that wasn't freezing ass cold) and Cris Judd. Of course one of the teachers recognized Cris and they announced his arrival. Of course this managed to get Kathy Mason assigned to protect him from Paparazzi (lucky for her, now she got to hang out with us all night...thanks Cris!).
Overall, it was a lot of fun. We saw Niceville win its district game in overtime becoming the district Champs and winning a close Homecoming game. From there we went to Perry's where we caught up on what everyone had been donig as well as checking eveyrone out in the Annual. It was a blast for sure.
Saturday turned out to be even more fun. Everyone got together at the Crab Trap. We had several people show up last minuted which was great. The cake was awesome (I'll post a picture at some point). Tamie also put together a brag board where people could post pictures of their family as well as their old High School picture which we scanned out of the Annual. I believe the final count was about 65 people with guests. Lots of mingling was going on and it was great to see everyone. Eventually there was so much hot air in the place that we had to open all the doors to cool it off :D.
Brett Howe brought in alot of 1987 memorabilia. It brought back a ton of memories as I'm sure, like alot of people, I had forgotten about so much of that stuff. Several people even had our class trip pictures as well. The only thing that would have top it off was having some Wang Chung playing in the background.
After a lengthy bill paying process we decided to go to AJ's. It was rather brisk but fun was had by all. The place was packed pretty well, but luckily Mario was already there so we had someone tall enough to see to help us located the group. Ultimately we ended up on a section of the deck that the heaters weren't working on, but it gave us alot of room. Lots of reminiscing, lots of laughing about Cris' fan club coming up for pics ;). Special thanks to Cris for hooking us up at AJ's, it was greatly appreciated. Everyone stayed at AJ's for quite a while, as the group finally started to wind down we managed to make it to the dance floor which was fun. Mike Jordan, who had been filming the whole event, was doing some dancing as well as playing Camera man out on the floor...it was definitely a sight to see and I can't wait to see some of the video.
Friday was a smaller gathering with everyone who was still around and their families. We even had a few other people who hadn't made the other days events show up for family day at the kids park. It was fun and it was great to see my kids make friends with the kids of people that I went to school with.
In closing I just want to say thanks to everyone who made it. I will update this post with a list of everyone who made it as soon as I get the info from Sherry. I don't want to miss anyone.
Please feel free to post your stories from the reunion!
